DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce our newest exhibit\, “Outlaw Gunner”\, based on the book of the same title by Dr. Harry Walsh\, gunner\, surgeon\, co-founder of the Waterfowl Festival and much more. This special exhibit chronicles the history of waterfowl and the Chesapeake Bay through the eyes of Dr. Walsh. On display are artifacts from Dr. Walsh’s personal on loan from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Department\, artifacts from the collection of his son\, Joe Walsh\, and from the Waterfowl Festival’s collection. \nExhibit Location:\n25 S. DESCRIPTION:A Date With History Lecture Series: Great Dames of Delmarva with Jim Duffy\nWednesday\, Aug. 28\, 2024 @ 1 PM at the Talbot County Free Library\, 100 W. Dover St.\, Easton MD 21601\nStoryteller\, Jim Duffy\, of Secrets of the Eastern Shore\, will share fun and fascinating tales of “Great Dames of Delmarva” in a talk sponsored by the Talbot Historical Society at 1pm Wed.\, Aug. 28\, 2024 at the Talbot County Free Library in Easton\, MD. His “Great Dames” talk will focus on fascinating women of Delmarva\, some of them quite famous and others little known. Several of the tales will have Talbot County connections. Duffy is an award-winning writer and author of six books that explore travel\, history and culture themes on the Eastern Shore and the broader Delaware Peninsula. Among his books are two popular collections of “Eastern Shore Road Trips” and “Tubman Travels\,” about following in the footsteps of Underground Railroad heroes. He appears regularly on the WBOC-TV show\, “DelmarvaLife\,” telling “Throwback Thursday” tales. Duffy will have copies of his books on hand for sale after the talk. Audience members are welcome to bring previously purchased copies of Secrets of the Eastern Shore books to the event for an autograph.\nThis is presented by the Talbot Historical Society in partnership with the Talbot County Free Library and will take place at the library located at 100 W.
