SUMMARY:Interview with an Outlaw Gunner
DESCRIPTION:                                                                              \nWe are open Waterfowl Weekend! Friday\, Saturday and Sunday 10a – 3p.\nOur current exhibit “Outlaw Gunner”\, located at 25 S. Washington St.\, chronicles gunning on the Eastern Shore through the eyes of Dr. Harry Walsh\, gunner\, surgeon and much more.\nInterview with an Outlaw Gunner\nFriday (Nov. 8th)\, Saturday (Nov. 9th) and Sunday (Nov. 10th)\nTwice daily: 11:00 am and 1:00 pm\nHave you ever wondered what it was like to be an outlaw gunner? The Talbot Historical Society (THS) invites you to come during the 53rd Waterfowl Festival and find out. Journey back in time to 1928\, ten years after the Migratory Bird Treaty Act was passed. This Act prohibits the killing\, capturing\, selling\, trading and transportation of protected migratory bird species without prior authorization by the Department of U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Reporter\, Hank Goldsborough\, will be interviewing the outlaw gunner\, Ducky Marshall\, for the Easton Gazette. Learn about a time on the Chesapeake Bay prior to a collective initiative for conservation with Talbot Historical Society’s reenactors Mike Mielke and Don Casson. Joe Walsh\, son of Harry Walsh\, will be here on Friday. During the Waterfowl Festival\, copies of “The Outlaw Gunner” book and hats will be sold to benefit both THS and the preservation of Harry Walsh’s collection and work.\nIf you have any questions: 410-822-0773 or email kaylaw@talbothistory.org\nTalbot Historical Society office/research/exhibit hours are: Wednesday through Saturday 10am-3pm \n
