DESCRIPTION:A Date With History Speaker Series\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Loyalty and Zeal: Algonkians of the Revolution (1774-1783)\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				August 22\, 1:00 - 3:00 pm\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				FREE TO THE PUBLIC\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Join Drew Shuptar- Rayvis\, citizen of the Pocomoke Indian Nation\, to honor the contributions\, struggles and sacrifices made by Algonkian peoples during the War of American Independence.  Explore the unique material culture and trade objects of Algonkian and Iroquoian people during the Revolution. Navigate the complex political paths of patriotism\, Toryism and neutrality trod by Algonkian and Iroquoian people as they worked to preserve their way of life in the face of overwhelming odds. Consider both the devastation of the Sullivan Campaign and the contributions to the shape of history made by numerous Algonkian people\, both patriot and loyalist.   \nThis is presented by the Talbot Historical Society in partnership with the Talbot County Free Library and will take place at the library located at 100 W. Dover St.\, Easton\, MD 21601. The lecture is free to the public\, seating is limited\, so arriving early will help ensure a seat.
