A Date with History Lecture Series
Outlaw Gunner
with Joe Walsh
Reservation Details Below

Our “Date with History” speaker series is pleased to present “Outlaw Gunner” on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 2pm. The Talbot Historical Society will host Joe Walsh at the Talbot County Free Library. Joe will discuss his father, Dr. Harry Walsh, and his book, The Outlaw Gunner, which has recently been republished.
The Outlaw Gunner is the story of Waterfowl Conservation and Market Gunning history on the Eastern Shore as told through the eyes of an Outlaw Gunner. In his lifetime, Dr. Walsh had seen a huge decline in the health of the Chesapeake Bay, the large flocks of ducks were gone and a way of life that had survived for many years was slowly slipping away. Join us as Joe Walsh talks about his father, his father’s mission and his very popular book.
Speaker presentation by Joe Walsh will begin at 2:00 PM.
This lecture coincides with our new exhibition installation which will be open in June.
This is presented by the Talbot Historical Society in partnership with the Talbot County Free Library and will take place at the library located at 100 W. Dover St., Easton, MD 21601. The lecture is free to the public, but reservations are required.  Please contact the Talbot Historical Society at 410-822-0773 or email .
