The Hill Community Walking Tour With Yvonne Freeman
July 25, 2026 @ 9:00am
Meet at 25 S. Washington St., EastonLocated just one block away from the Talbot Historical Society, The Hill Community in Easton is one of the oldest free Black neighborhoods still in existence in the United States today, with a rich history shaped by generations of resilience, faith, and community. Led by Yvonne Freeman, this walking tour invites visitors to explore the Hill through its historic streets, hear personal stories from the neighborhood, and gain a deeper understanding of its enduring legacy.
While the tour is free and open to the public, we encourage donations to support the important work of Asbury United Methodist Church*, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church*, and the East-End Neighborhood Association.
We are hoping the early start time will keep us out of the heat of the day!
*Depending on church functions, we may not be able to go inside on the day of the tours.
