1781: The Road to Yorktown
October 20, 1:00 pm
FREE TO THE PUBLIC
Tim Boyle will explore a pivotal year of the American Revolution, from October 1780 through October 1781, tracing the events that culminated in Cornwallis’s surrender at Yorktown. The presentation will also provide historical context and background, bringing this decisive chapter of the Revolution to life.
Tim describes himself as a lifelong history nerd with a passion for 18th-century history, particularly the American Revolution. Within that timeframe he has been a student of the Battle of Cowpens, the Southern Campaigns or 1780-1781, and the life and exploits of Daniel Morgan. Boyle has been the proprietor of Vintage Books and Fine Art in downtown Easton since 2013 and loves every second of it. He lives in historic Oxford with his wife Anne, and two ornery cats, Ernie and Gracie.
This is presented by the Talbot Historical Society in partnership with the Talbot County Free Library and will take place at the library located at 100 W. Dover St., Easton, MD 21601. The lecture will be presented on October 20 at 1pm. The lecture is free to the public, seating is limited, so arriving early will help ensure a seat.
Talbot Historical Society office/research/exhibit hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10am-3pm
