Come celebrate Colonel Tench Tilghman Week with members of the local community during a parade through the streets of Easton consisting of representatives from the Maryland Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.), Society of the Cincinnati, Maryland Patriot Guard, five Historical Societies on Maryland’s Mid-Shore, American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) Posts, Boys Scouts, American Heritage Girls, Chesapeake Caledonian Bagpipe &; Drum Band, Colonel Richardson High School Marching Band, Chestertown Christian Academy (CCA), and more.

• 9:00 am – Parade begins at Talbot County Courthouse; ends at Spring Hill Cemetery in Easton to honor Col. Tench Tilghman, Gen. George Washington’s longest-serving aide-de-camp, Matthew Tilghman, the “Patriarch of Maryland” and “Father of the Revolution in Maryland,” and all of our patriot ancestors.
• 9:45 am – Grave-marking / wreath-laying ceremony at Spring Hill Cemetery to honor Solomon Barrott, the last living Revolutionary War soldier from Maryland who died in 1851 at age 88, nearly 70 years after the war ended. Ceremony will end with a three-volley musket salute provided by the SAR Color Guard.
• 11:00 am – Guest Speaker, Patrick K. O’Donnell, historian and bestselling author of “Washington’s Immortals: The Untold Story of an Elite Regiment Who Changed the Course of the Revolution” at the Avalon Theatre. O’Donnell will tell the story of the soldiers from Maryland who became known as the Maryland 400 and Washington’s Immortals because of their heroic actions at the Battle of

• Vintage Books from Easton – Owner Tim Boyle will sell copies of O’Donnell’s book before and after the presentation at the Avalon Theatre.
• Meet the Artist – Laura Era, award-winning Maryland portrait artist and owner of the Troika Gallery in Easton, will sell prints of Colonel Tench Tilghman’s official portrait at the Avalon Theatre before and after O’Donnell’s presentation. Her
